Right after the release of Midsommar, stars Jack Reynor and Will Poulter are already giving us more! Check out the brand new Bainne trailer below.
Spooky, but what is Bainne about?
Bainne (pronounced BON-yay) is Gaelic for “Milk”. And as you can see from the trailer, there are certainly cows involved. The film is set in the last year of The Great Famine in Ireland, 1852. In the trailer, you can see Will Poulters character collecting milk while a man stares from beyond the locked gates. The appearance of a cloaked visitor is punctuated by the abrupt chopping of wood before the end. The entire trailer is tense and the haunting soundtrack does a lot to inspire that feeling. For just about 40 seconds without dialogue, it’s almost immediately enthralling.
The Bainne trailer doesn’t look like a modern trailer. The era combined with the grey tones could place this as a much older film and I think that gives a lot of the intended ambiance without dialogue. And that is amazing. I never thought I would be enthusiastic about a film just titled “Milk” with actual cows in the trailer, but here I am.
Cast & Crew
Besides being the directorial debut of Jack Reynor (Midsommar, MacBeth, Transformers: Age of Extinction) and the previously mentioned Will Poulter (Midsommar, Black Mirror: Bandersnatch), the film also stars Steve Wall, who you may recognize from Vikings.
The film is in post-production currently according to IMDb and does not have a planned release date just yet. But stay tuned to Haunted MTL for news and updates on this and everything else horror!
