Pride Month Kickoff

Jim here. Let’s see, this story is a bit of creative non-fiction (visual style), that is. I’m not too sure how everything will look online as I did this for a print magazine that tanked before it hit the press. Warning, now, there are some explicit graphics here…nothing too XXX from a Vegas point of view, but don’t complain to us if you get stoned in Oklahoma (and not the good kind, ya hear?).

Las Vegas as the sunset looked like a post nuclear warning tale. The sands blasted the acne off your face as the heat radiated not just from the sky, but from the ground you walked. I spent more than a few years living down Paradise, near the Hard Rock. One place available to work (and dance!) was the premier gay nightclub, The Gipsy. I met a lot of people there, both for work and socially. One of my co-workers told me a story about his boyfriend that, well, I guess stuck with me. You see, it involved this guy who looked just like Billy Idol and…but, wait, I’m getting ahead of myself….

Gay Pride story about a man working at a gay bar, his life and trials.
