All of that LOVE in the air attracted the attention of something… untoward… What more horrific unearthly creatures loom at the periphery of our knowledge? There are many things among the Great Old Ones that go bump in the night and will steal you away to unfathomable ends…

The Red Lady will envelop you in her Eternal embrace, where you will sleep Forever with her arms enfolding you. Though at first, it may seem pleasant, you will soon find yourself suffocating, unable to move or breathe. But The Red Lady cares not of the weak freedoms of mortal beings; she smothers all whom she can trap willingly in her clutches. So beware of The Red Lady’s gentle reach & warm grasp, for you shall all too soon become ensnared if you allow yourself to become enraptured…
Beware: this seductive otherworldly being will lure you away to horrors untold.

Artwork description: A seductive young woman sculpture cast entirely in red stares down at you from a vantage point above, enticing you to join her. She looks like something merged between the movie Haxan and a Rococo painting by Jean-HonorĂ© Fragonard…

The Red Lady statue transforms and envelops you in its eternal embrace. Too late... You allowed yourself to get too close...
Too late… You allowed yourself to get too close…

I originally found this sculpture in an enclave in the lobby of a very contemporary hotel in Chicago, IL looking down upon all who pass by. I cannot recall just what hotel I was at, but then again perhaps that was by design…

Portrait of myself with dark makeup and crow skull headdress, backlit by the sun.
