We have some exciting news about some upcoming content exclusively on Shudder, including some news about next month’s release schedule! Let’s dive in. We have a lot of ground to cover.

Creepshow Season 2 and Season 3

We now have a premiere date for season two of Creepshow. The next season will air starting April 1st. On top of this news of the premiere is the early announcement of a renewal, meaning season three of the Greg Nicotero-produced horror anthology is in the works.

Season two hit a production delay due to the coronavirus pandemic, but the season is going to arrive in April after filming was able to be resumed later in 2020. Based on the horror anthology Creepshow from George A. Romero and Stephen King, Creepshow continues the tradition of darkly comic horror stories with a host of new actors in the mix. Season two is set to include Josh McDermott, Ashley Laurence, Keith David, Ryan Kwanten, Breckin Meyer, Eric Edelstein, Barbara Campton, Ali Larter, C Thomas Howell, Iman Benson, Ted Raimi, Denise Crosby, Kevin Dillon, among others.

Shudder posted a sneak peek of the season on their Twitter account, take a moment to check it out.

Shudder also announced that Haunted MTL-favorite The Last Drive-In with Joe Bob Briggs will also be returning on April 16th. The new season will continue the streaming weekly on Shudder and continue the double feature format.

The show has regularly topped the trending list on Twitter during the previous season and the past three specials, ushering in a return to appointment television led by horror fans. Haunted MTL will continue to live-tweet the new episodes as they air.

Black Creator Horror Anthology Series

Inspired by the success of the landmark horror documentary, Horror Noire, streaming exclusively on Shudder, there is an upcoming anthology lead by black creators. The anthology is currently untitled, but features the work of writers such as Tananarive Due, Steven Barnes, Ezra C. Daniels, Victor LaValle, and Al Letson. The new anthology is set to premiere later this year.

Rock the Vote for Real

Star spangled costume identity portrait of myself - Rock the Vote
Star spangled costume identity portrait of myself

If you live in the United States, it’s time to rock the vote for real. I shared this video before in conjunction with my identity-based costume work, and I feel it’s important to revisit now, with the election coming up in just a few days. Besides which, Jack Black and Tenacious D are brilliant and given the current political climate, who doesn’t want to do the time warp? But seriously, get out and rock the vote, your life kinda does depend on it (at least insomuch as being able to make for yourself the life that you want, without the government telling you how to do so – especially if you live on the fringes of socially acceptable awkwardness like me and so many of my friends).

tenacious d rock-y the vote

Besides which, this video is so good, it’s worth sharing again anyway. And again, if for some reason the video doesn’t load, you can find it here.

Art Attack

And here are some artworks I made awhile back as political commentary. The photograph was shot of the scene exactly as found, of a sign above a parking lot in a quickly gentrifying neighborhood making sure all knew that any unauthorized vehicles were unwelcome, and hung right in front of a flag that was tattered and torn from being caught on the chain link fence driving the point home. The flags were meant to be interactive, with gallerygoers waving them while singing The Star Spangled Banner in its elitist entirety. The whole really spoke to me regarding some of the political climate at the time (this was right before Trump was elected President the first time). How much has changed since then? In some ways, a lot. In other ways, I guess we shall see.
