Polaroid is a familiar story in a new package. The haunted object genre is full of films to experience, but 2019’s Polaroid pulls it off well. The way the narrative and mystery unfold is well paced and executed.
While it’s no genre staple like Oculus or game-changer like Cabin in the Woods, Polaroid is a competent horror mystery with minimal gore. Much better than the somehow entertainingly silly Wish Upon, you’ll be left wondering exactly who is telling the truth and who can’t be trusted even after it’s over.
With an IMDB rating of 5.1/10, no Tomatometer and Audience Score of 40%, I give Polaroid a 6.9/10.
